Spider-Man: No Way Home to feature Charlie Cox and Tom Hardy cameos

The recently revealed title of John Watts' third installment of the MCU Spider-Man trilogy had many fans wondering which characters other than Doc Ock, Green Goblin and Electro will appear. While Tobey Maguire's and Andrew Garfield's appearance is confirmed by virtually every insider by now (and has been since Autumn 2020 when filming started), I'd like to tell you about two other characters' appearances that I now secured information about.

I have talked to several VFX artists who worked on Spider-Man: No Way Home. They told me this.

Charlie Cox will appear as Matt Murdock. He will not wear his Daredevil costume but there are two scenes in the movie in which we will see him working as a lawyer. One of these scenes features a practical effect that Marvel then decided to embellish with a little CGI. The second is to feature Matt's super hearing in relation to an unidentified character's sweating during an interrogation.

The other character who will appear is Venom from Sony's Spider-Man Universe. While this was known for a while thanks to the mid-credits scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, I'd like to inform you that no Venom scenes were actually animated for this film. The VFX artists did not bring the Venom model into this movie at all. Eddie Brock, played by Tom Hardy, does appear in a cameo which does involve CGI but only for a few seconds. It is likely that the Venom symbiote will make an appearance but the actual monster is not to appear in this movie.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is slated release on December 17, 2021.

Jurassic World IV: Alan Grant & Spinosaurus are back!

Jurassic World IV was oficially confirmed by Universal Studios a little while ago now. We already know the movie is going to be directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One). Recently, Jennifer Lawrence was revealed to have passed on the role of the female lead and it seems very likely that Scarlett Johansson will be cast in her role. The movie's script is being furiously worked on by David Koepp who co-wrote the script for the first Jurassic movie with Michael Crichton, author of the source material. The new movie marks Koepp's return to the franchise 17 years after the release of The Lost World: Jurassic Park for which he wrote a screenplay. I have been very fortunate to have sat down with Mr Koepp's writing assistant a couple of days ago. He is a friend of mine and has worked with writers in Hollywood for over a decade. While he wouldn't share the whole script which is being continuously worked on at the moment, he showed me excerpts from it. And guess what, there's goi...

No, Mister Sinister won't be in The New Mutants at all

The cursed New Mutants movie from Fox which will likely end the studio's 20-year attempt at adapting Marvel Comics' X-Men character is to be released in August this year after several delays. Some fans have been hoping that the movie will feature a favourite villain, Nathaniel Essex, who was first teased in the post-credits scene of 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse . No. That's not true according to an editing assistant I talked to several days ago. In the final cut of the film, Nathaniel Essex is apparently mentioned several times and his activities are linked to those of Alkali-Transigen as seen in the 2017 movie Logan . But the character himself does not maky any appearance whatsoever. It may be sad for X-Men fans but Disney likely doesn't want to waste Mister Sinister for a movie with which the franchise comes to an end. If Mister Sinister appears in the X-Men reboot in the MCU, we'll have to see.  Rick Bernads
